This customer had extremely high iron levels in his water (almost 10 mg/l) and was using an antiquated system to solve the problem. The old system was set up to remove as much iron as possible by adding chlorine into the water to change the iron into a particle form which the big tank could then filter. The water softener removed any iron which got past this process. Unfortunately, chlorine systems are challenging to maintain, so the homeowner had stopped doing this part a long time ago. The iron staining in the home just got worse over time.

A new pressure tank was installed along with a sediment filter and high-efficiency water softener to remove the iron and minerals!
